Anyone a Hawaiian native? I was thinking of renting a car in Hawaii for a couple of days?

sweetnkindchick asked:

Can anyone tell me what are some good places to go to in Oahu especially the beaches? I want to drive around and sight see. I was wondering if any of you know any good places to visit in Hawaii. Also I wanted to see some waterfalls. Funny huh? Well it’s my first time and I would like some suggestions. Thank you!

uh well i dont see how being a NATIVE hawaiian has anything to do with this but iam a local (and hawaiian) and you should check out the international marketplace in waikiki (and waikiki itself). Also north shore is pretty cool, there are alot of nice beaches there but sometimes with huge waves. If you want smaller waves check out lanikai beach or Kailua beach or get surf lessons at waikiki beach. the Maunawili waterfall is fun to swim in. Top of waikiki is a cool restaurant (it spins). Pretty much every place here is a good place to go =)

Just a word of caution. To be truly Hawaiian you have to have Hawaiian blood. A better term would be local.Which refers to a person who has lived here for a long while who may or may not have Hawaiian blood..

Also renting a car can get expensive. Especially since most hotels charge for parking. we have a great bus system on Oahu so I would suggest taking the bus most places.Like to some beaches and most tourist atractions like Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor and Arizona Memorial

And renting a car if you are staying in Waikiki and want to go to the North Shore.

North Shore Oahu. Waimea Bay, Ehukai Beach Park, & Old Haleiwa Town.

the infamous Pipeline (the northshore in wintertime), Haleiwa town (that’s where they filmed the movie Blue Crush), the Waianae side is beautiful (the clean beaches past all the homeless beaches), Lanikai beach, Waimea Bay, Turtle Bay (where they filmed Baywatch), the Ko’Olina lagoons, Sandy Beach, Kaneohe has beautiful water, Waimea falls, etc etc…
