December generally has pretty good weather in Hawaii. (We say ‘in Hawaii’ when we refer to the state and ‘on ___’ when we refer to a specific island, such as ‘on Oahu’). Winter sunsets can be just as spectacular as summer ones, so don’t worry about that.

I wouldn’t count on good weather in December. I lived there for 17 years and watched tourists come on Christmas break only to have it rain on them for the entire 2 weeks.
Best time of year is September to late November for mild temps with sunny skies in general. Summer if fine, but sun is hot. Winter and Spring can be rainy.
Sunsets are gorgeous most any time of the year (except in heavy rain, of course).

I spent December on Oahu in 2003. The weather was nice, in the upper 70s, and sunsets were very pretty. Lots of the buildings have Christmas lights or are lit up and there are Christmas decorations everywhere! I loved it.
Every Friday night at 7:30 the Hilton Hawaiian Village has a fireworks display.

I was there last December. It rained a little on and off a couple of days, but for the most part the weather was very nice. It was warm and sunny. The sunsets are not very colorful though, because there is less pollution. But I think it would still be a very nice wedding.

The weather in the winter time is unpredictable. It rains most during this time of year, but will come and go. It may be sunny one day, rain the next day, and cloudy the day after that. Or it could rain for 40 days straight – as we had about a year ago (very unusual circumstance). So, unfortunately there’s no definitive answer for you. Summer is a safer bet, or you can set up a back-up plan for your wedding, in case it does rain.

Hawaii has two seasons. One of them being the rainy season and December is right in the middle of it.

Definately come to Oahu in December! It seems like the rainy part of the year is slowly pushing back later. In December, the weather is still nice. I go to the beach a lot during December. It is during the month of March where the rain starts pouring
