The Kahala Beach in Oahu is beautiful you can even check it out on line. We swam with the dolphins there a few years back. Congratulations too
We stayed at the Kahala Mandarin on Oahu.

You’ll want to avoid the south shores because they’ll be full of tourists. The west shores are tricky… lots of hostility… unless you go to Ko’Olina… but again, go when there are not as many tourists. The east side of the island is pretty uncrowded but there’s not much beach; mostly rocky shores. SO: your best bet is the north shore… HOWEVER there are tourists like crazy. But you mentioned you’ll be there in September. The tourists are gone by the end of July. All you’ll see are a few locals and snow birds. The sunset time frame would be perfect as this is the time when most people start to empty out the beaches up north to hit the club scene down south. YOU ARE GONNA HAVE A BLAST!!! Congratulations and god luck!!!

I agree with the Kahala, its lovely you really want to avoid the other end with all the building work going on, The Pink Palace is also very romantic but the beach there can be very busy, dont let anybody talk you into The Hilton they are building yet another tower… Most of the hotels on the front are good, but not quiet, the kahala is stunning, Some of the best beaches are in other parts of the island, we loved Bellows and Waimanalo, but there are no hotels there, to be honest Kauai is the most beautiful Island with the most romantic settings, altho my one vivid memory (cringe) is my mother hopping down Bali Hi, singing I’m gonna wash that man…. still never mind you will have a wonderful time.

I’ll agree with the Kahala Mandarin and/or Ko`olina Resort and Spa.

Both are beautiful, and for both, the crowds are just a matter of timing…I don’t think you’ll have too much control over the amount of other tourists you’ll run into.

Someone else mentioned the North Shore. Turtle Bay might also be nice too….

All of the above places meet your criteria of nice sunsets, white sand, and nice palm trees…
